The Best of Esxence 2025: Trends and Fragrances That Enchanted Milan

The fifteenth edition of Esxence – The Art Perfumery Event, held from February 19 to 22, 2025, at Allianz MiCo in Milan, celebrated the theme "Masters of Dreams," paying tribute to perfumers who transform dreams into olfactory reality.

Emerging Trends

• Evolved Gourmand Notes: Sweet fragrances continue to dominate but have evolved into "neo gourmand" compositions, incorporating buttery, nutty, and slightly salty notes, offering more sophisticated and complex creations.

  
  

• Exotic and Tropical Influences: Many brands introduced perfumes inspired by exotic destinations, featuring tropical fruit notes like mango and passion fruit, evoking the atmosphere of distant paradises.

• The Return of Intense Florals: There is a renewed interest in powerful floral fragrances, with a special focus on Turkish rose and jasmine, often combined with woody and spicy notes to create rich, enveloping olfactory profiles.

• Wa:It – Aka An energizing fragrance blending grapefruit, pink pepper, and saffron in the opening, with a heart of juniper berries and lavender, resting on a sensual base of cypress and cedarwood.

  
  

• Parfums Dusita – Tonka Latte A reimagining of vanilla that captures the essence of Paris, balancing warm and sensual notes for a rich and enveloping composition.

  
  

• Rito – Golden Island Inspired by a sailing trip to an imaginary island, this perfume blends passion fruit, Sicilian lemon, Sardinian myrtle, and Madagascar vanilla, evoking a perfect tropical escape.

• Etat Libre d'Orange – Nostos Inspired by the myth of Achilles, Nostos explores the ancestral desire to return home, balancing oud, musk, Turkish rose, jasmine, sandalwood, amber, saffron, and incense.
